Most stuck claims aren't stuck for the reason everyone thinks
Injury management is the work of helping an injured worker recover and get safely back to work while their claim is running. Done well and early, it keeps a claim moving. Done late or not at all, claims drift.
A claim that has run past six months, keeps getting more expensive, or simply isn't progressing usually has a specific, fixable reason behind it. That reason gets missed when everyone involved is busy and no one owns the whole file.
In plain English, claims usually stall for one of four reasons. Capacity was never made clear, so no one knows what the worker can safely do. A psychological factor is sitting on top of a physical injury and no one has named it. A return to work plan was written but never actually landed in the workplace. Or responsibility is split between the insurer, the employer and the treating team, so the gaps between them never get closed.
